Changes

  • The Hon. Josephine Carew-Grey resigned as Chancellor of the Exchequer on the 21st January. She was replaced by The Rt. Hon. Sir Elio Somerset two days later.
  • The Prime Minister was on a Leave of Absence from the 20th of January until the 31st, having been on a State Visit to the Yukon. In his absence, the DPM took charge of Government.
  • The Duke of Edinburgh, in preparation for his role of Prince Consort, resigned as Home Secretary on the 12th February, as part of a wider cabinet reshuffle. He was replaced by the Culture Secretary, Owain Carew-Grey.
  • Llywellyn Lleyton was replaced by Patrick Maniar-Wright as Justice Secretary, to allow him more time to recover his health, also on the 12th February.
  • Owain Carew-Grey resigned from all Government and Parliamentary Positions on the 22nd February. Owing to the short length of the term remaining, he was not replaced and the role of Home Secretary was filled unofficially by the PM and DPM.
