Noel Maria Constantinus de Carteret MBE MP BA LLB (joined 26 May 2024) is a British jurist and Unionist politician who currently serves as the Secretary of State for Culture, Media, and Sport, Member of Parliament for St Albans-Welwyn-Hatfield, and Second Clerk of the Green Cloth.

Joining the Empire

On 26 May 2024, Noel Maria Constantinus de Carteret joined the Empire of Great Britain. His application was accepted the same day by the Deputy Prime Minister and Secretary of State for the Home Office, Josephine Carew-Grey, Baroness Knightstone, during the Premiership of the Baron Knightstone.

Politics

Unionist Party

The day after Noa joined the region, on 27 May 2024, he applied and was granted membership to the Unionist Party by Thomas Carew, Baron Knightstone, Leader of the Party and incumbent Prime Minister. He would go on to attend the May 2024 Party Conference of the Unionist Party.

Election to Parliament

Noa become a candidate for the July 2024 General Election. He ran for the seat of St Albans-Welwyn-Hatfield, which he did not win.

On the 11th of July, following the resignation of Nicholas Burke, he announced his intention to run for the open seat in the by-election.

As an MP

He was elected as Member of Parliament for St Albans-Welwyn-Hatfield in the July By-Election of 2024. On the 14th of July, he became the first MP to swear their Oath in Jèrriais.

The following day Noa gave his Maiden Speech, the first speech of an MP to parliament, the first MP to do so in the Empire's history. In his speech he made reference to the July Election and its ensuing controversy, constitutional crisis, and the motion of confidence in the Prime Minister (Baroness Wilton).

Royal Court of Justice

Noa was called to the Bar on 4 June 2024, after he graduated from University. His application was accepted soon after, meeting the qualifications.

Noa enrolled at the University of St Andrews on 31 May 2024 with the Student ID of 20240503. He was taught by Josephine Carew-Grey, Baroness Knightstone, a Lecturer of Political Science and Law, and graduated with a Bachelor's of Laws and a Bachelor's of Arts in Journalism with First-Class Honours on 3 June 2024. His courses included Legal Theory, Legal Practice, Evolution of Journalism, and Ethics of Journalism.
