The Calder Ministry was formed on the 8 October 2024 following the acclaimed election of October 2024. It was created under the leadership of August Carew-Grey, The Baron Calder. Owing to time delays and other administrative matters, the composition of the Cabinet was not announced until the 10 October. It dissolved on the 9 November following the sudden resignation of the Prime Minister and announcement of a second snap election in as many sessions.
It was a rare occurence of a Prime Minister also leading a Government Department directly, seen prior such as during the Huntingdon Premiership (PM served as Chancellor of the Exchequer), the Douglas Premiership (PM served as Chancellor of the Exchequer), and the Warwick Ministry (PM served as Justice Secretary). It was also the second Ministry in existence to include the position of Downing Street Chief of Staff.
