Grey House is a Stuartian manor in Byfleet, Surrey, England. It is the ancestral seat of the Grey family and owned by Prince Miann, Duke of Edinburgh, with an estate of 10 acres. It was built in 1685 by the Baronets Buckworth and restored by the family of the same in 1905. In December 2023, Josephine Grey bought the manor and an estate of 10 acres with the help of her friend John, Prince Royal. The manor and estate was later transferred to the Prince Consort in June 2024.

History

On 11 December 2023, Josephine Grey purchased a residence permit for £10,000 and an estate of 10 acres for an additional £100,000. A final sum of £157,500 purchased the manor from the Buckworth family. In total, the manor and estate cost Mrs Grey £267,500. It was officially opened on 12 December 2023. [1]

Christmas at Grey House 2023

On 12 December 2023, Mrs Grey hosted a Christmas event at Grey House. [2] It was attended by Edward IX, King of Great Britain, Henry, Prince of Wales, John, Prince Royal, Matthew Somerset, 1st Duke of Somerset, Miann Somerset, 2nd Duke of Edinburgh, William Somerset, 2nd Viscount Douglas, Tobias Somerset, 1st Baron Stafford, Nicholas Romefeller, Archbishop of Canterbury, Reginald Carmichael, 1st Earl of Antrim, Thomas H. Wright, and Owain W.G. Forsyte.

During the event, she received a 75.47-carat Hooker emerald Brooch from Lord Stafford, a bottle of Hennessy from Mr Forsyte, a bottle of Scotch from The Duke of Somerset, a bottle of Louis Roederer 2008 Vintage from Lord Douglas, a silver picture frame from The Duke of Edinburgh, a bottle of wine from the Archbishop of Canterbury, a bottle of Port from Mr Wright.
