Elio Aspen Victor Matthew Somerset, 1st Viscount Salisbury KCB MVO CS PC LHC MP (joined 25 September 2022) was the Lord Chief Justice of the Empire of Great Britain. Lord Douglas was the second born son of Henry, Prince of Wales, the younger brother of Sir Tobias Somerset, and the parent of William E. Somerset.

They formerly served as the Secretary of State for Justice, Shadow Secretary of State for the Foreign Office, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Oxford, Deputy Secretary of State for Justice, and Chair of the Joint Parliamentary Committee to Investigate the Need for a New Electoral System. Before becoming the Chancellor of Oxford University, he was the Professor of Law.
